Stock Market Live: Sensex, Nifty trading higher amid positive global cues
Stock Market Live: Indian equity benchmarks opened higher on Tuesday, amid positive global cues. The Nifty index opened higher by 30.3 points at 18631.80 levels, while Sensex opened higher by 54.43 points at 62779.14 levels. The Bank Nifty also opened lower by 54.5 points at 43889.70 levels. The domestic market indexes are trading firm and moving northwards.

The Bank Nifty is trading higher by 0.39 percent at 9.45 IST. The broader markets are outperforming their larger peers, as the Nifty mid and smallcap indexes are trading higher by 0.88 percent and 0.58 percent respectively.
Among the sectors, barring Media all sectoral indices are trading in the green. The sectors that are leading are FMCG, Pharma, IT, and Metal.
The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are ITC, Asian Paints, Titan, HUL, and Axis Bank and the top losing stocks are Hero Motors, Adani Power, Kotak Bank, Bajaj-Auto, and HDFC Life
The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are ITC, HDFC Bank, and Kotak Bank in terms of volume ITC, Tata Steel, and Tata Motors.
Global Stock Market Live Updates
On the global front, Asian stock markets are trading mostly higher on Tuesday, tracking gains from the US markets overnight. The key Asian stock market indexes are trading positively ahead of US inflation data on Tuesday, as the latest New York Fed survey showed that the annual inflation is declining to a two-year low.
Nikkei touched a new high in 2023, while Hang Seng erased early losses and is trading in the green. Kospi, Taiwan, SET Composite, and Jakarta are trading higher, while Shanghai is trading lower at this moment.
