Stock Market LIVE Today: Sensex and Nifty Trade Lower, Realty & Banks Weigh Down

Stock Market LIVE Today, 7 November 2023: Indian stock market indexes opened on a cautious note Monday, following the negative cues from Asian markets. The US markets closed slightly higher on Monday despite a rebound in Treasury yields. 

The nifty index today opened slightly lower by 7.7 points at the 19404.05 level, while Sensex made a positive opening of 62.6 points at the 65021.29 level. The Bank Nifty index also opened lower by 20.55 points at the 43598.85 level.

Market Live at 9.40 am IST, the Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading lower by 0.29 percent and 0.24 percent respectively. The Bank Nifty is trading down by 0.47 percent at 9.40  a.m. IST. The broader markets are outperforming their larger peers, as the Nifty mid-cap index is up by 0.26 percent, while the smallcap index is trading flat.

Among the sectors, the Pharma, IT, and Energy sectors are trading in the green, and the sectors that are trading in the deep red are Realty, Banking, and Financial Services.

The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are Bajaj Finserve, Dr. Reddy, ONGC, Cipla, and Bajaj Finance and the top losing stocks are ICICI Bank, Power Grid, HDFC Bank, ITC, and Tata Consumer.

The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are HDFC Bank, Bajaj Finance, and Divis Lab, and in terms of volume are Tata Steel, HDFC Bank, and Power Grid.

 

Asian Stock Market Live Updates Today

 

The other Asian stock market indexes are trading lower on Tuesday as China’s trade data came worse than expected and interest rate hike by RBA. The trade data released in China showed that imports increased surprisingly in October, while exports fell sharply. Shanghai and Hang Seng indexes are down by 0.35% and 1.57% respectively.

South Korea’s Kospi is trading down by 3.24% after a strong rally in the previous session. Australia’s S&P ASX 200 is trading lower by 0.22%, as the Central Bank of Australia raised the key policy rate by 0.25 bps was in line with the expectation.

Japan’s Nikkei extended its early losses and is also trading lower by 1.14%. Elsewhere the Straits Times, SET Composite and Jakarta Composite are trading in the red while Taiwan is trading flat to the positive at 9.20 a.m IST.
