Stock Market LIVE: Sensex, Nifty Trade Flat; Hero Motors Gains 3%
Stock Market Today Aug 8, 2023: Indian stock market indices opened higher on Tuesday following the positive global cues. The Nifty index opened higher by 29.9 points at 19627.20 levels, while Sensex also opened higher by 95.33 points at 66048.81 levels. The Bank Nifty made a positive opening of 51.45 points at the 44888.95 level.

Market Live at 9.30 am IST, the Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading flat. The Bank Nifty is trading slightly higher by 0.15 percent at 9.30 IST. The broader markets are outperforming their larger peers, as the Nifty mid and smallcap indexes are trading higher by 0.28 percent and 0.27 percent respectively.
Among the sectors, Pharma, PSU Bank, and Energy are gaining the most while IT, Metal, and FMCG are under pressure
The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are Hero Motors, Cipla, Dr. Reddy, NTPC, and Coal India and the top losing stocks are Adani Ports, Power Grid, Eicher Motors, Adani Enterprise, and Divis Lab
The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are HDFC Bank, Hero Motor, and SBI in terms of volume Tata Steel, HDFC Bank, and SBI.
Asian Stock Market Live Updates
Asian stock market indexes are mostly trading lower on Tuesday, as China’s trade data came below expectations. China’s exports dropped by 14.5% year-on-year basis, while imports declined by 12.4% YoY. As per a Reuters economists poll, exports are expected to decline by 12.5%, and a 5% drop in imports.
At 9 am IST, Shanghai is trading flat and Hang Seng is trading lower by 1.09 percent. Nikkei is trading higher by 0.36 percent. South Korea’s Kospi erased early gains and is trading lower by 0.13 percent. Other, Asian market indexes, Straits Times, SET, and Jakarta are trading slightly higher while Taiwan is trading in the red.
