Stock Market LIVE Today 26, October 2023: Indian stock market indices opened sharply lower on Thursday, following the negative global cues. The Nifty index made a gap-down opening of 94.9 points at 19027.25 levels, while Sensex made a negative opening of 274.9 points at 63774.16 levels. The Bank Nifty opened lower by 123.6 points at the 42708.40 level.

Market Live at 9.35 am IST, the Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading sharply lower by 0.74 percent and 0.82 percent respectively. The Bank Nifty is trading lower by 0.62 percent at 9.35 a.m. IST. The broader markets are underperforming their larger peers, as the Nifty mid and smallcap indexes are trading lower by 1.75 percent and 2.23 percent respectively.

Among the sectors, all sectoral indices are trading in the red with Realty, Media, and Metal falling the most.

There is only one stock trading in the green in the Nifty 50 index at present Axis Bank and the top losing stocks are TechM, M&M, Hindalco, Adani Enterprise, and Bajaj Finserve.

The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value and volume are HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Axis Bank.

Asian Stock Market Live Updates Today

The other Asian stock market indexes are trading lower on Thursday following negative cues from Wall Street overnight. The US Treasury yields bounced back and a sharp fall in tech stocks after Google’s parent Alphabet’s earnings disappointed. Japan’s Nikkei and South Korea’s Kospi fell the most in the region, down by 1.90 percent and 2.20 percent respectively.

Australia’s S&P ASX 200 index is trading lower by 0.76 percent. Shanghai and Hang Seng are also trading lower by 0.29 percent and 0.67 percent respectively. Elsewhere, the Straits Time, Taiwan, SET Composite, and Jakarta Composite are also trading in the deep red at 9.15 a.m. IST
