Nifty end above 19300, Sensex up 486 pts, PSU Bank, Energy gain

 

Sensex and Nifty Today July 3,  2023: Indian stock market indexes extended their previous session gains and closed on a strong note on Monday. The local markets traded above their neutral lines throughout the day. The equity benchmarks Sensex and Nifty, ended at new record highs on the first day of the week.

 

Stock Market Indexes Today

 

The Nifty 50 index closed higher by 133.50 points or 0.70 percent and closed at 19322.55 levels while the Sensex was up by 486.49 points or 0.75 percent and finished at 65205.05 levels. The Bank Nifty index ended higher by 410.75 points or 0.92 percent on the spot level and closed at 45158.10 levels

The broader markets ended higher today, as the Nifty midcap index was up by 89.15 points or 0.25 percent and closed at 35843.50 levels. The Nifty smallcap index outperformed the benchmarks it ended higher by 133.15 points or 1.23 percent at 10970.25 levels.

 

Nifty 50 top gainers & losers 

 

The top gainers in the Nifty 50 index were  Grasim, BPCL, ITC, Reliance, and Bajaj Finance and the top losers were Power Grid, Sun Pharma, Bajaj Auto, Cipla, and Dr. Reddy

The top gainers in the Nifty midcap index were L&TFH, JSW Energy, and Bank of India, and the top losers were Persistence, Cummings India, and Bandhan Bank

The smallcap top gainers were BSE, Suzlon, and FACT while the top losers were Manappuram, Anupam Rasayan, and Glenmark

The most active stocks in the Nifty index in terms of value were HDFC Bank, HDFC, and Reliance. The most active stocks in terms of volume were Tata Steel, HDFC Bank, and SBI.

On the sectoral front, PSU Bank, Energy, and Metal closed higher while the sector that closed in the red were  Pharma, IT, and Auto

 

Global Stock Market Today

 

Asian stock market indexes closed higher on Monday, as investors digested a slew of PMI manufacturing data in the region. The market sentiments were positive as China’s Caixin Manufacturing PMI data came slightly above market expectations.

Hang Seng gained the most in the region followed by Nikkei, Kospi, and Shanghai. Private surveys showed factory activity in ASEAN countries was mixed. European stock market indexes trading higher following the positive cues from the Asian markets.
