Stock Market News and Updates Today

The Indian equity benchmarks cut all early losses in late morning deals and turn positive despite negative cues from the other Asian market peers. Investors got relief after the Commerce Ministry is working on releasing the new five-year foreign trade policy (FTP) before September this year and District as export hubs scheme would be part of the documents, which aims at promoting exports and job creation.

Market sentiments were further improved with the reports that the windfall tax on oil produced within India and fuel exported overseas will make up for more than ¾ of the revenue that the government lost when it cut excise duty on petrol and diesel to cool high inflation.

On the global front, the other Asian market indexes opened mostly lower on Monday morning as Wall Street futures slipped in the early trade. The market sentiments were cautious in the early deal after Indonesia’s consumer prices increased at a faster rate than was expected in June. European markets are trading higher on Monday, despite the eurozone inflation hitting a new record high in June.
