Market LIVE Today: Sensex and Nifty Reverse Early Losses, Enter Positive Territory

Indian stock market indexes turned positive after opening lower. The Nifty 50 index is trading higher, by 47 points or 0.21 percent and at 22058 levels while the Sensex is up by 123 points or 0.16 percent and at 72763 levels. The Bank Nifty index is trading higher by 208 points or 0.47 percent on the spot level and at 46900 levels.
The broader markets are trading higher today, as the Nifty midcap index is up by 32 points or 0.08 percent and at 47066 levels. The Nifty smallcap index is trading higher by 82 points or 0.55 percent at 15043 levels.
Sensex and Nifty Live Today, 22 March 2024: Indian stock market indexes opened lower on Friday as Asian markets turned negative. The Nifty today opened lower at 21932.20, down by 79.75 points, while the Sensex opened a gap-down of 409.53 points at 72231.56 levels. The Bank Nifty index also opened slightly lower by 50 points at 46634.90 levels.
The other major Asian stock market indexes mostly gave up early gains and are trading lower at 9.25 am IST. Hang Seng and Shanghai are falling sharply in the region, extending early losses by 2.90% and 1.43% respectively. South Korea’s Kospi index extended early losses, while Nikkei 225 and Taiwan erased all early gains and turned negative.

The Nifty 50 index is trading lower, by 47 points or 0.21 percent and at 21964 levels while the Sensex is down by 191 points or 0.26 percent and at 72459 levels. The Bank Nifty index is trading slightly higher by 100 points or 0.21 percent on the spot level and at 46785 levels.
The broader markets are trading mixed today, as the Nifty midcap index is down by 36 points or 0.08 percent and at 46995 levels. The Nifty smallcap index is trading higher by 55 points or 0.37 percent at 15015 levels.

Among the sectors, Realty, Media, and PSU Bank are gaining the most, while IT, Auto, and Energy are dragging down the markets.
The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are BPCL, Apollo Hospital, Cipla, ITC, and Sun Pharma and the top losing stocks are HCL tech, LTIM, Wipro, Infy, and TCS.
The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are TCS, Infy, and HDFC Bank, and in terms of volume are Tata Steel, Wipro, and Infy.
