Asian markets are mostly trading in the green today tracking the positive cues from Wall Street overnight. Nikkei and Hang Seng are trading higher by 1.36 percent and 0.24 percent respectively. Shanghai is trading in the red today, down by 0.24 percent. The SGX Nifty is trading flat to the negative, down by 0.05 percent at 17689 levels. The indication getting from the global markets is positive for the Indian stock markets.

The US market indexes rose in the first trading session of 2022 and Apple stock touched a $3 trillion market cap. With the support of Apple, Dow Jones and S&P 500 gained 0.21percent and 0.23 percent and hit a new record high. The tech-heavy Nasdaq also jumped 0.65 percent on Monday.

European market indexes closed higher on Monday. FTSE was not trading on Monday due to a holiday. DAX and CAC were closed higher by 0.86 percent and 0.90 percent on 3 January 2022. Eurozone Manufacturing PMI data showed slower growth in December compared to November’s data. The Markit PMI manufacturing data came slightly lower by 58 in Dember from 58.4 reported in November.

Indian stock markets closed positive on the first trading day of 2022. Sensex and Nifty ended more than 1.5 percent higher on Monday. FIIs and DIIs both were buyers in the cash segment on 3 January. FIIs bought Rs 902.64 crore while DIIs bought Rs 803.11 crore in the cash segment.
