Indian Stock Market Weekly Updates (21- 25 Nov): Indian markets made a robust gain during the week. The market sentiments got boosted after the minutes of the latest FOMC meeting released on Wednesday, indicating a slowdown in interest rate hikes in the coming meeting. The falling crude oil prices also added some optimism to the Indian equity markets. However, the upside remained capped due to the surges in covid cases and restrictions reimposed in China.

The benchmark indices, Sensex hits a new record high while Nifty touched a 52-week high during the week. The broader markets outperformed their larger peers. Among the sectors, Nifty Media, PSU Bank and IT were the top gainers while the Realty sectors closed in the red during the week. FIIs were the net sellers, they sold Rs 1479.96 crore worth of shares while DII bought Rs 1781.47 crore in the equity cash segment during the week.

Weekly Indian Stock Market Indexes (21 -25 Nov)

On a weekly basis, the Indian equity benchmark indices closed higher. Sensex gained 630.16 points or 1.02%, and closed at 62293.64, while the Nifty was up by 205.1 points or 1.12%, and ended at 18512.75 levels. The Bank Nifty index also gained in line with the benchmarks, closed higher by 546.5 points or 1.29 %, and finished at 42983.95 levels.

The broader markets outperformed the benchmarks this week. The Nifty midcap index closed higher by 670.95 points or 2.17 percent, and at 31587.65 levels. The Nifty small-cap index also jumped by 236.1 points or 2.46 percent and ended at 9849.7 levels during the week.
