Indian Stock Market Live Today 9 Feb- Markets are trading marginally higher

 

Market live today 9 Feb at 10.10 am IST: It was a positive start for the Indian stock market today as indicated by the global peers. Nifty opened at 15164.15 levels, up by 48.35 points while Sensex made a positive opening of 135.46 points and opened at 51484.23 levels. The Bank Nifty spot price opened positive at 36058.80 levels, up by 75.15 points.

At 10.10 am IST, Indian stock markets are trading higher, Nifty trading up by 0.40% while Sensex is trading higher by 031%. The Bank Nifty spot price erased early gains and is trading marginally lower by 0.42% at this moment.

HDFC Life, UPL, and Wipro are trading as the top gainers in the Nifty index whereas IOC, Tata Motors, and M&M are trading as top losers. Tata Motors, Reliance, and SBI are trading as the most active stocks in the Nifty index at this moment.

On a sectoral front, Oil & Gas, Insurance, and IT & Software sectors are trading higher whereas Banking, Finance, and Automobiles sectors are trading marginally lower.

Asian markets are trading positive today. Nikkei and Hang Seng are trading higher by 0.37% and 0.23% respectively while Shanghai is trading 0.63% up. The SGX Nifty is also trading higher by 25 points. As per the indication getting from the Asian markets, the Indian stock market may open higher today.

The US stock market ended in the green on Monday as investors bet that a new round of stimulus spending would boost the U.S economy. The US market Indexes Dow and S&P 500 gained 0.76% and 0.74% respectively while Nasdaq closed higher by 0.95% on Monday.

European markets gained on Monday as recent M&A activity in the region helped to reduce the pessimism in the continent. The rollout of the Coronavirus vaccine globally and US new stimulus hopes also added some optimism in the region. The European market indices FTSE and CAC closed higher by 0.53% and 0.47% respectively while DAX closed flat to positive just 3 points up on Monday.

Indian stock markets closed at a new high on Monday amid positive global cues. Sensex and Nifty gained 1.22% and 1.28% respectively on the first day of the week. FIIs were the buyers and DIIs were the seller on the first day of the week. FIIs bought Rs 1876.6 crores and DIIs sold Rs 504.86 crore in the cash market segment on Monday.

The FPIs holding in NSE listed companies reached a five year high of 22.74% in December 2020. This is on the back of huge buying of 1.42 lakh crore in the third quarter. In comparison, the holding of foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) was at 21.51 percent in the quarter ending September 2020 as per moneycontrol.com.
