Indian Stock Market Live Updates Today, 6 March 2024: Indian stock market indexes opened lower on Wednesday, following losses from global markets. The Nifty today opened lower at 22327.50, down by 28.8 points, while the Sensex also made a negative opening of 89.43 points at 73587.71 levels. The Bank Nifty index also opened lower by 129.35 points at 47451.65 levels.

Meanwhile, the other major Asian stock market indexes have mostly recovered their early losses and are trading in the green at 9.30 a.m. IST. Nikkei 225 and Kospi indexes trimmed their early losses and are trading slightly lower by 0.07% and 0.30% respectively. Hang Seng received most of its previous session losses and is trading above 2%.

The Indian stock market indexes are fluctuating on either side of their flat line. The Nifty 50 index is trading lower by 50 points or 0.22 percent and at 22305 levels while the Sensex is down by 74 points or 0.11 percent and at 73596 levels. The Bank Nifty index trades higher by 187 points or 0.39 percent on the spot level and at 47776 levels.

The broader markets are trading sharply lower today, as the Nifty midcap index is down by 761 points or 1.55 percent and at 48335 levels. The Nifty smallcap index trades lower by 382 points or 2.42 percent at 15504 levels.

 

Indian Stock Market Updates Today

 

Among the sectors, barring Financial Services & Bank Nifty all sectoral indices are trading in the red, with Media, Metal, and Energy falling the most.

The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are Kotak Bank, Axis Bank, ICICI Bank, Bajaj Auto, and Nestle and the top losing stocks are ONGC, NTPC, Wipro, BPCL, and Power Grid.

The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are Tata Motors, HDFC Bank, and SBI, and in terms of volume are  Tata Steel, Tata Motors, and SBI.
