Weekly Global Stock Market Analysis

Stock Market Analysis

The US markets ended mixed during the week ended 19 November. Nasdaq and S&P 500 ends higher while Dow Jones finished the week lower. The markets closed mixed as investors weighed strong economic and profits data against inflation fears, ongoing supply strains, and a rise in covid-19 cases in some regions.

The market sentiment was optimistic due to positive economic data early in the week whereas negative sentiments erased some gains in the end in the US markets.

European markets closed slightly lower in the last week ended 19 November as investors were concerned about the rising Covid-19 infections that clouded the economic outlook in the region. European countries began to reimpose stricter restrictions to curb the spread of the covid infections. UK’s October month’s inflation surges and hit almost a decade high whereas the payroll also rises strongly.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 finished marginally higher during the week ended 19 November. The larger-than-expected stimulus package and dovish stance by the Bank of Japan (BoJ) helped the market to offset the weak economic data released during the week. China’s Shanghai Index edged up despite weak economic data and disappointment in corporate earnings.

FIIs and DIIs investment
