Trade setup for Wednesday– Good morning and welcome to the morning reports, the top things to know before the stock market opens today April 27, 2022
Asian markets are trading in the red on Wednesday, tracking negative cues from the US markets overnight. Nikkei and Hang Seng are trading lower by 1.86 percent and 0.60 percent respectively while Shanghai is trading marginally lower by 0.25 percent at 7.30 am IST. The SGX Nifty is down 198 points or 1.15 percent at 16997 levels.
The indications getting from the Asian markets are negative for the domestic markets. Indian stock market indexes are likely to open a gap down today.
The US and European market Indexes update
The US market indexes ended sharply lower on Tuesday as investors digested quarterly earnings from leading companies and weighed concerns about inflation and covid outbreak in China. In the end, the key indexes extended their early losses, Dow Jones dropped 809 points or 2.38 percent while S&P 500 and Nasdaq closed lower by 2.81 percent and 3.85 percent respectively on Tuesday.
European market indexes erased their early gains and closed mostly lower on Tuesday, as technology stocks followed US peers and closed in the red ahead of quarterly earnings, while London’s FTSE managed to close in the green due to a boost in commodity shares and was up by 0.08 percent while CAC and DAX were down by 0.54 percent and 1.20 percent respectively.
Indian stock market updates
Indian stock markets ended higher on Tuesday amid positive global cues. The benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty gained 1.37 percent and 1.46 percent respectively. FIIs were the sellers and DIIs were the buyers in the equity cash segment. FIIs sold Rs 1174.05 crore while DIIs bought Rs 1643.84 crore in the equity cash markets on Tuesday

The price band of LIC IPO has been set at Rs 902 to Rs 949, with a discount of Rs 60 for policyholders and Rs 40 for retail and employees, according to the news CNBC TV18. The issue will open on 4th May and is likely to close on 9th May 2022.
On Tuesday, According to CBDT Chairman JB Mohapatra, the country’s net direct tax collection has increased by 49.02 percent to Rs 14.09 lakh crore in the FY 2021-22. This is compared to Rs 9.45 lakh crore collections in the previous FY 2020-21. The net direct tax collections (income tax and corporate tax) have reached an all-time high in any financial year.
