Today’s stock market opening view: Nifty, Sensex trading higher

Today’s stock market opening view: Markets are trading higher IndusInd, TCS, are among the top gainers

 

The Indian stock market opened in positive today as indicated by the Asian peers. Nifty opened at 11487.80 made a gap up opening of 70.85 points while Sensex added 259.73 points and opened at 38956.78 levels. The Bank Nifty on the spot levels opened at 22352.10 added 106.1 points at the opening.

At, 9.55 am IST, Nifty and Sensex are trading above 1% while Bank Nifty on the spot levels trading more than 2% higher.

IndusInd Bank, Tata Steel, Wipro, TCS, and ICICI Bank are trading as the top gainers in the Nifty index whereas Gail, Bharti Airtel, Asian Paints, ONGC, and M&M are trading as top losers. TCS, IndusInd Bank, and Reliance are the most active stock in the NSE.

On a sectoral basis, IT & Software, Banking & Finance, and Metals are top gainers while Telecom, Media, and Insurance sectors are trading marginally lower.

 

Nifty and Sensex are expected to open in a positive zone

The opening view at 8.15 am IST: Asian stock markets are trading in the green today. Shanghai is having a holiday today. Nikkei and Hang Seng are trading higher by 1.35% and 1.48% respectively. SGX Nifty is trading up by 92 points or 0.82% indicating a positive opening for the Indian stock market today

The US stock markets closed lower on Friday after a choppy trade as investors reacted to the weaker job market reports for September. Traders were cautious after President Donald Trump and his wife tested positive for the coronavirus.

On Friday, the US market indices Dow and S&P 500 fell 0.48% and 0.96% respectively while the tech-heavy Nasdaq closed lower by 2.22%.

The European markets closed mixed on 1st October. Friday the market started in negative after the news of U.S President Donald Trump tested positive on Friday.  Later, in the end, the markets recovered and closed slightly positive as investors hopes for more stimulus in the U.S for weaker job data in September.

The FTSE and CAC indices closed marginally higher by 0.39% and 0.02% whereas DAX closed marginally lower by 0.33% on 2nd October Friday.

Back home in India, the Sensex and Nifty closed higher on Thursday, markets were closed on Friday due to Gandhi Jayanti. The Sensex and Nifty closed higher by 1.65% and 1.51% respectively on 1st October. FIIs and DIIs both were buyers in the cash market. FIIs bought Rs 1632.25 cr while DIIs bought Rs 259.46 cr in the cash market on Thursday.

News that may influence today’s stock market live 

 

On 1st October the Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced that Indian exports grew by 5.27% compared to last year for the same period to $27.4 billion in September. It grew after contracting six months in a row.

As per the CMIE report India’s unemployment rate declined to 6.67% in September from 8.35% in August. The unemployment rates for urban and rural areas were 8.45% and 5.86% respectively in September.

Japan’s service sector activity contracted for the eighth straight months in September but at the slowest pace since the coronavirus pandemic started as per a private business survey. The Jibun Bank Japan Service PMI rose to its highest in eight months, coming in at a seasonally adjusted 46.9 from 45.0 in the previous month. The PMI number below 50 can be read as a contraction.
