Market Live 14 Dec- Stock Markets are trading higher, Metal stocks are in focus

 

Indian stock market opened gap up today amid positive Asian market cues. Nifty opened at 13571.45, up by 57.6 points while Sensex made a gap up opening of 185.69 points and opened at 46284.70. The Bank Nifty on the spot level also opened positive by 130.3 points at 30735.15 level.

At 9.55 am IST, Nifty and Sensex are trading higher by 0.26% and 0.24% respectively while Bank Nifty on the spot levels trading 0.35% up.

Cipla, Coal India, ONGC, Tata Steel, and Grasim are trading as the top gainers in the Nifty index whereas Eicher Motors, Tech Mahindra, HDFC Life, Wipro, and Divis Lab are trading as the top losers. Cipla, Tata Steel, and Reliance are trading as the most active stocks in the NSE at this moment.

On a sectoral front, almost all major sectors are trading higher at this moment. Metals, Consumer Durables, and Telecom sectors are trading as top gainers.

Indian Stock Market may open in the green today

Asian markets are mostly trading in the green today. Nikkei and Shanghai are trading higher by 0.68% and 0.17% respectively while Hang Seng is trading 0.11% up today. The SGX Nifty is trading 57 points up indicating a positive opening for the Indian stock markets today.

The US stock markets closed mixed on Friday. Dow closed marginally higher by 0.16% whereas S&P 500 and Nasdaq ended lower by 0.13% and 0.23% respectively on 11 December Friday. The US benchmark closed negative on a weekly basis whereas smallcap stocks outshine last week.

The European stock markets slipped on Friday on worries over the economic impact of a resurgent coronavirus pandemic, uncertainty on Brexit trade deal, and the stalled US stimulus aid. The European market indices FTSE and CAC closed lower by 0.80% and 0.76% whereas DAX ended 1.36% down on Friday.

Indian stock market closed positive on Friday. Nifty gained 0.26% while Sensex closed higher by 0.30% on Friday. FIIs were the buyers and DIIs were the seller in the cash market. FIIs bought Rs 4195.45 crore and DIIs sold Rs 2359 crore in the cash market segment on 11 December.

 

 

News that may influence the stock market live today 14 Dec

India’s Index for Industrial Production grew 3.6% in October from the previous year same period according to the data released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation. The data released on Friday post-market hour and the market will react today on the better than expected data.

The WPI and CPI inflation data are expected today during the market hour today.

The US government has given approval to Pfizer’s coronavirus vaccine for emergency use. The mass-vaccination will start from Monday as announced by the United Officials on Saturday. It comes at a time when the United States has recorded around 15.5 million infections and close to 300,000 deaths due to the pandemic.
