Stock Market Live: Sensex, Nifty open gap-down, IT index down 3%

 

Stock Market Today LIVE July 21, 2023: Indian stock market indices opened lower on Friday, dragged by IT stocks, tracking weak global cues. The Nifty index opened lower by 178.7 points at 19800.45 levels, while Sensex also opened lower by 664.83 points at 66907.07 levels. The Bank Nifty made a negative opening of  122.95 points at the 46063.95 level.

Market Live at 9.35 am IST, the Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading lower by 0.95 percent and 0.85 percent respectively. The Bank Nifty is trading slightly lower by 0.12 percent at 9.35 IST. The broader markets are also trading mixed at this moment, as the Nifty mid is trading lower by 0.31 percent, and smallcap index is trading marginally higher by 0.11 percent.

Among the sectors, PSU Bank, Media, and Auto are trading higher while IT, Realty, and FMCG sectors are trading lower.

The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are L&T, Britannia, ONGC, Kotak Bank, and SBI and the top losing stocks are Infy, TechM, HCLTech, TCS, and HUL.

The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are Infy, HDFC Bank, and Reliance in terms of volume Infy, SBI, and Tata Steel.

 

Asian Stock Market Live Today

 

Asian stock markets are mostly erased early losses and turned green on Friday. The key indexes opened lower following the sell-off in tech stocks on Wall Street overnight. Nikkei trimmed some early losses, as Japan’s June inflation came slightly higher, in line with expectations. 

Kospi recovered its early losses and turned green, as South Korea’s producer prices fell for the first time since November 2020. Hang Seng is trading higher as June’s inflation rate declined for the second straight month. Shanghai, Straits Times, and Set Composite are also trading higher at 9 AM IST.
