Stock Market LIVE: Sensex and Nifty are trading slightly higher

 

Stock Market Live: Indian equity benchmarks opened mixed on Friday, amid positive global cues. Soon after opening, the benchmarks turned negative but recovered immediately. The Nifty index opened higher by 21.35 points at 18655.35 levels, while Sensex opened lower by 37.96 points at 62810.68 levels. The Bank Nifty opened higher by 54.95  points at 44045.75 levels

 

Stock Market Live Today 

 

Market Live at 9.55 am IST, the Indian stock market indices, Sensex and Nifty are trading marginally higher by 0.09 percent and 0.11 percent respectively. The Bank Nifty is trading higher by 0.30 percent at 9.55 IST. The broader markets are also trading higher at this moment, as the Nifty midcap is trading higher by 0.41 percent, and smallcap index is trading slightly higher by 0.17 percent.

Among the sectors, Realty, Banks, and Financials are trading in the green while Metal, IT, and  PSU Bank are dragging the markets.

The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are IndusInd Bank, Britannia, Axis Bank, Dr. Reddy, and Ultratech Cement and the top losing stocks are ONGC, HDFC Life, M&M, Infy, and TechM

The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are Kotak Bank, HDFC Bank, and Axis Bank in terms of volume Tata Steel, Kotak Bank, and NTPC

 

Global Stock Market Live Updates

 

On the global front, Asian stock markets are mostly trading higher on Friday, tracking positive cues from Wall Street overnight. Nikkei is trading almost 2% higher, reversing most of their previous two session losses. Kospi is also trading higher almost 1% at this moment. 

Hang Seng and Shanghai are trading slightly higher, as China’s CPI inflation rose by 0.3% year-on-year in May after marking a two-year low of 0.1% in April. The upside remains capped as the producer price index in May fell 4.6%, compared to a decline of 3.6% in April. Investors are worried, as economic indicators are pointing to a cooling economy in China.
