Stock Market News Updates

The Indian stock market sentiments remained cautious as Crisil in its latest report has warned that the Russia-Ukraine crisis and the various sanctions imposed on Russia by Western Countries may reduce the country’s imports on one hand and also lead to input cost pressure on downstream companies in Indian corporates.

Further adding more worries, the rating agency ICRA said that the ongoing conflict between Russia-Ukraine will burden domestic steelmakers with high input costs. The rating agency further said that it expects India’s current account deficit to widen to 3.2 percent of GDP in 2022-23, if the crude oil prices average $130 per barrel, crossing 3 percent for the first time in a decade.

On the global front, other Asian markets were closed in the red after Wall Street logged its biggest drop in more than a year as markets were volatile due to surges in crude oil and on fear of its impact on inflation and economic growth. European markets are trading in the green at this moment.
