Sensex and Nifty 50 Today Report Minor Gains, Broader Markets Steal the Spotlight

Sensex and Nifty 50 Today, 8 Nov 2023: Indian stock market indexes closed with minor gains on Wednesday. The domestic markets opened higher following gains from Wall Street overnight. The upside remained capped as most of the Asian stock market indexes pared early gains and ended in the red.

Traders remain cautious after hawkish comments from Fed officials overnight and ahead of Chair Jerome Powell`s speech which is due later in the day. Traders seemed reluctant to make significant moves and will pay close attention to Powell`s speech for clues about the outlook for interest rates.

Further, the persistent foreign fund outflows also dented sentiments. According to the provisional data available on the NSE, foreign institutional investors (FII) offloaded shares worth a net of Rs 497.21 crore on November 7, 2023.
