Market LIVE Today: Nifty and Sensex are Down, Unveiling the Market Dynamics
Market Live Today, 26 Feb 2024: Indian stock market indexes opened lower on Monday following mixed global cues. Meanwhile, Asian stock market indexes are mostly trading in the red, Japan’s Nikkei 225 is trading higher above 39300, while Hang Seng and Shanghai indexes are trading lower by 0.70% and 0.58% respectively.
Nifty today opened higher at 22169.20, down by 43.5 points, while the Sensex also made a negative opening of 97.99 points at 73044.81 levels. The Bank Nifty index opened lower by 195.9 points at 46615.85 levels.

Indian stock market indexes extended their early losses and trading near their day’s low. The Nifty 50 index is trading lower by 100 points or 0.45 percent and at 22115 levels while the Sensex is down by 317 points or 0.49 percent and at 72825 levels. The Bank Nifty index is trading lower by 236 points or 0.50 percent on the spot level and at 46595 levels.
The broader markets are also trading lower today, as the Nifty midcap index is down by 275 points or 0.56 percent and at 49026 levels. The Nifty smallcap index is trading lower by 2 points or 0.01 percent at 16174 levels.

Among the sectors, barring PSU Bank and Energy all sectoral indices are trading in the red, with IT, Realty, and Metal falling the most.
The top-gaining stocks in the Nifty 50 index are Power Grid, L&T, Bajaj Auto, Adani Enterprises, and Cipla and the top losing stocks are Asian Paints, BPCL, Wipro, TechM, and Axis Bank.
The most active stocks in NSE in terms of value are Asian Paints, HDFC Bank, and L&T, and in terms of volume are Power Grid, Tata Steel, and SBI.
