Indian Stock Market Live Today 29 Jan 2021- Markets erased early gains and are trading marginally higher

 

Market live 29 Jan at 9.55 am IST: Indian stock markets made a positive opening today as indicated by the SGX Nifty in the morning. Nifty opened at 13946.60 levels, up 129.05 points while Sensex opened at 47423.47 level made a positive opening of 549.11 points. The Bank Nifty on the spot price also made a gap up opening of  342.35 points and opened at 30700.65 levels.

At 9.55 am IST, Sensex and Nifty erased some early gains and are trading above their neutral line. Sensex and Nifty are trading higher by 0.28% and 0.32% respectively while the Bank Nifty on the spot price is trading 0.51% higher.

IndusInd Bank, Tata Motors, and M&M are trading as the top gainers in the Nifty index whereas Axis Bank, NTPC, and Cipla are trading as the top losers. Tata Motors, Reliance, and HDFC Bank are trading as the most active stock in the Nifty index at this moment.

On a sectoral front, Banking & Finance, Automobiles, and Metal sectors are trading higher whereas Healthcare, FMCG, and Telecom sectors are trading marginally lower at this moment.

 

Indian stock market may open positive today

Asian markets are trading mixed today. Nikkei is trading lower by  0.29% whereas Hang Seng is trading higher by 0.25%. Shanghai is trading almost flat. SGX Nifty is trading 122 points up today. The Asian market cues indicating a positive opening for the Indian stock market today.

The U.S stock markets gained on Thursday on the back of a rally in the healthcare, technology and financial sectors as the euphoria in some of the most overheated segments of the market showed signs of easing. The U.S market indexes Dow and S&P 500 gained 0.99% and 0.98% respectively while Nasdaq was up 0.50% on Thursday.

The European stock markets trimmed their losses and closed mixed on Thursday after a sharp sell-off on Wall Street. Investors are worried about increasing new infectious variants of the coronavirus. The European market index FTSE closed lower by 0.63% whereas CAC and DAX closed higher by 0.93% and 0.33% respectively on Thursday.

Indian stock market closed lower on Thursday due to a global sell-off. The benchmark indices Sensex and Nifty fell 1.13% and 1.07% respectively. FIIs were the seller and DIIs started buying in the cash market. FIIs sold Rs 3712.51 crore whereas DIIs bought Rs 1736.92 crore in the cash market segment on 28 Jan 2021.
