Indian Stock Market live today, 26 July: Markets are trading flat, Nifty trading above 15800 levels

 

Market Live Today 26 July 2021: Indian stock markets made a flat start on Monday amid mixed global cues. Nifty opened at 15849.30, down by 6.75 points while Sensex made a positive start at 52985.26 levels, up by 9.46 points from the previous close. The Bank Nifty spot price opened lower by 86.55 points at 34947.85 levels.

At 9.50 am IST, the Indian stock market indexes are trading flat and are looking for direction. The Bank Nifty spot price is trading lower by 0.51 percent at this moment.

ITC, Titan, and Divis Lab are trading as the top gainers in the Nifty 50 index whereas JSW Steel, SBI, and HDFC are trading as the top losers. ITC, ICICI Bank, Reliance, and JSW Steel are the most value-wise active stocks in the Nifty 50 index after the Q1results announced last weekend.

On a sectoral front, Healthcare, FMCG, Metals, and IT are trading marginally higher whereas Banking, Insurance, Oil & Gas, and Power sectors are trading in the red.

Asian markets are mostly trading in the red on Monday. Hang Seng and Shanghai are trading lower by 1.85 percent and 1.31 percent respectively whereas Nikkei is trading higher by 1.32 percent. The SGX Nifty is trading 84 points down at 15769 levels. The Asian market cues are negative today, the Indian markets are likely to open in the red today.

The US stock market indexes closed record high on Friday as investors cheered on economic recovery and strong corporate earnings, while the US treasury yields rose before a Fed’s meeting next week. The US market indexes, Dow Jones closed higher by 0.68 percent and S&P 500 gained 1.01 percent Friday. Nasdaq Composite also jumped 1.04 percent on Friday.

European stock market indexes ended higher on the last day of the week, the sentiment was boosted on the back of buying auto stocks and the eurozone central bank’s promise to continue the stimulus package. The European market indexes CAC and DAX gained 1.35 percent and 1 percent while FTSE was up by 0.85 percent on Friday.

Indian stocks market closed marginally higher on Friday amid positive global cues. The benchmark indices, Sensex and Nifty closed higher by 0.26 percent and 0.20 percent respectively. FIIs were the seller and DIIs were the buyers in the cash market segment. FIIs sold Rs 163.31 crore while DIIs bought Rs 2187.80 crore in the cash market on 23 July Friday

Accordingly to RBI weekly data on Friday, the country’s foreign exchange reserves rose by $835 million and touched a record high of $612.73 billion in the week ended July 16, 2021. The growth is mainly due to the increase in Foreign Currency Assets (FCA) a major component of the overall reserves.

The Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said at the CII-Horasis India Meeting webinar. that India will continue to attract high foreign direct investment (FDIs) in FY22. He said the FDI inflow grew by 19% to $59.63 billion in 2020-21, it rose 10% compared to 2019-20. Similarly, this year also he is confident to continue this streak of historic high in foreign inflows.

The markets will react first to the corporate earnings announced post markets on Friday and Saturday. JSW Steel, ICICI Bank, ITC, and Reliance have announced their Q1 earnings post-market hours on Friday and will be in focus on Monday.
